About The Author
Ever since I first watched The Lord of the Rings, I’ve been completely hooked on the idea of crafting my own universe. For me, creating these worlds is the ultimate escape from everyday life—and that’s exactly what I hope The Motleyverse is for you, too!
I approach writing a little differently, mainly because my only professional training is in screenplay writing from my film degree. So, while I’m still finding my unique voice in novel form, I focus heavily on creating characters that feel deeply real. In fact, I build my heroes and villains around the personalities of people I genuinely admire and would love to hang out and share a coffee with.
I'm very new to the world of novel publishing, but I pour all my passion into building these fantastical worlds, mixing complex magic with real human emotion. Thank you for joining me on this incredible journey into the Motleyverse!
For as long as I can remember, I have been a creative. I grew up in an amazing part of the world—a village surrounded by the oldest rainforest and the largest coral reef. Because it was a village, I spent most of my childhood outdoors, going on our own small adventures: riding bikes, exploring the forests behind the beaches, running up and down empty shores, finding animals, building huts, and playing with whatever the tide washed in.
When I started school, I surrounded myself with like-minded friends, and that era happened to coincide with the launch of YouTube—which ignited my passion for film. On weekends, we would get together and create the weirdest videos! I miss those days. We had no grand scheme to become internet famous; we just created whatever we wanted. I don't think any of those videos broke a hundred views, and honestly, that was perfectly okay.
I decided to ride that creative wave and enrolled in a Bachelor of Film and TV degree. This is where I really let my writing shine. I was always the first one to put my hand up to write the script in group tasks because I always felt like I had meaningful stories to tell. (I think I have some of those original scripts stored on a hard drive somewhere—let me know if you'd be interested in reading them!)
Some of my biggest achievements from University included writing the script for a two-hour long award show called BUFTA, and writing, co-producing, directing, and editing a short film. For my final year, I enrolled in a course called "Passion Project." In that course, I worked one-on-one with the screenwriter professor to develop a feature-length film or TV series script. That intensive course ended up creating the entire blueprint for The Chronos Web.
